envy and the snapshot
I can’t take photos
Photographers have the eye
I have the ear
I write
I capture things in words
I wish I could do the photo thing
I like to think it’s easier
Click click, click click
You’re done
Can’t change it, can’t edit it
Can’t mess with it
It’s done, it’s cooked
No more chances
Off to the developer
But words – damn
There they sit
Begging you to tinker with them
But, ah, the photo
Quick, instantaneous judgment of the heart
Good medium for the color orange
Good or bad, the blessing
In the blink of an eye
While we blues struggle
Ponder, edit, tinker some more
