Sodom and Gomorrah
Dear God
Do you suppose you could forgive us?
You once promised to save a city
If there were 50…no, 45…no, 40
No, 30…no, 20…no, 10
For the sake of 10 you did not destroy
Everyone
So…we have 10…surely, there are 10
Actually, there are many
Some of them are already taken
Through no fault of their own
Can they be counted if they’re dead?
Then there would be almost 3,000…
They were here once
Some were heroes
Most were just ordinary people
Believe me, there are more
I’ve seen them, met them
Heard about them on TV
This for-the-sake-of-10 thing…
Does this apply if we are trying
To destroy ourselves?
