The poems

daybreak

Like black lace
The trees are etched against the sky
The soft, glowing peach of early morn
Just as they are silhouetted
So your eyes in the mirror
Offer but a trace
Of all that is behind
Their touching, holding glance
With just a look
Powerful and deep
You wrap me in your arms
And hold me close
To welcome in the morning star
