Just as you were cut open
That’s how I feel sometimes
What is the saying
“Motherhood is to decide forever
To have your heart
Go walking around outside your body” *
How I work on believing
That you go on
But sometimes that is too ethereal
I loved the shell
And I miss the body
You brought your soul in
It comforts me to think
It was too small a container
To hold the essence of you
I must keep looking for you
In a different sphere
A place where there is nothing but
The heart
Walking around outside the body
